     EDM group Sofi Tukker host daily live stream DJ sets on Instagram at 1 p.m. to help those at home get out of their seats for a 30-minute dance party. For more information, follow their official Instagram, @SofiTukker.

 

     The St. Johns County Public Library offers multiple events throughout the week for kids and adults, including a daily virtual storytime at 11 a.m., Monday through Friday, on Facebook Live.

 

Storytimes last approximately 30 minutes and are recorded and posted on the Library’s Facebook page for those who miss the live showing.

     Cuba Libre Bar’s Chef Lorenzo will host live cooking classes on Fridays at 1 p.m., teaching how to cook authentic Cuban cuisine on Facebook live on the Cuba Libre Bar official Facebook page, www.facebook.com/danceclubjacksonville.

 

     Fitness enthusiast Savanna Rose will host workout classes on her official Instagram, @savanna__rose. Each class is a different type of workout and times will vary. For more information, follow her Instagram.

 

     Junior Achievement of North Florida is offering weekly programs live on Instagram, where program coordinators or virtual volunteers will be teaching JA courses live. Parents and students can follow JA of North Florida’s Instagram page at @janorthflorida to take part in the lessons. The lessons will be held each Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday at 10 a.m. Tuesday programs will be for elementary age students, Wednesday programs will be for middle school students and Thursday programs will be high school students. Each lesson will be approximately 30 minutes, with the live recordings saved for review on JA’s official Facebook page at www.Facebook.com/JAofNorthFlorida.

They will also be posted on the JA of North Florida website at www.janfl.org.

 

     The Jacksonville Symphony has joined multiple international orchestras in broadcasting music to help raise the spirits of the community during this time. Join in for a new broadcast, Fridays at 8 p.m., on the Jax Symphony official Facebook and YouTube pages, or through its official website at www.jaxsymphony.org/live/.

 

     Learn From Chefs is a chance to support local chefs and Jax Restaurant Reviews while during social distancing while learning to cook incredible food all while safely social distancing.

 

Each virtual class includes a recipe card for each course to keep, a 2-hour live web meeting to follow along with the chef and access to purchase ingredients from a local grocer and have them delivered (not applicable to all classes).

     Chef’s Garden Catering & Events offers weekly virtual cooking classes throughout the COVID-19 quarantine to keep social distance while staying emotionally connected.  New classes are added weekly. For more information, visit www.cateringjacksonville.com.

 

     To connect with friends, St. Augustine’s Urban Asado will host “Virtual Asados” to feature local businesses. The online events feature a variety of specially-prepared “Asado Kits” for preorder to follow along. Chefs will offer grilling tips and local bartenders will provide special cocktail kits for viewers. Not available to grill? Still stop by the Virtual Asado and say hello.      Musical duo Jarrod and Claire Dickenson host “Concerts for the Quarantined” on Thursdays at 2 p.m. on Jarrod’s official Instagram, @JarrodDickenson. Watch and listen as they serenade viewers with friendly conversation and acoustic vibes.

 

     "Songs From Another Room" is a songwriter series streamed from each artist's home to the Blue Jay Listening Room Facebook page on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8 p.m., and Sundays at noon. There will be an opportunity to monetarily support both, Blue Jay, and the artists, by donating to Venmo, PayPal or Cash App. Each night, donations will be split down the middle, with Blue Jay receiving half and that night's artist receiving the other half.

 

     Healthy Eating Every Day: Free Online Live Class

 

Participants will learn how to select the right balance of foods for optimal health, develop and maintain healthy eating habits, and use lifestyle management skills to cope with triggers for unhealthy eating. The event is sponsored by the Northeast Florida Area Health Education Center, ElderSource and the State of Florida, Department of Elder Affairs

 

This is an online webinar that uses Zoom and is hosted Wednesdays at 10 a.m., from May 27 through Aug. 26, 2020.
