Wounded Warrior Project to observe Memorial Day

Wounded Warrior Project is planning some events for Memorial Day.

  • Saturday, Wounded Warrior Project is taking warriors on a motorcycle poker run. Registration starts at 10 a.m. at Adamec Harley-Davidson on Baymeadows Road. Riders will leave the location at 2 p.m. and make stops in Jacksonville, St. Augustine and Orange Park before wrapping up around 5 p.m. back at Adamec Harley-Davidson.
  • Monday, Wounded Warrior Project will help lay a wreath at the Veterans Memorial Wall in the Sports Complex as part of the city’s Memorial Day Ceremony. Wounded Warrior Project VP of Connection Wil Williamson, Jr. (a Marine veteran) will lay the city’s wreath along with Mayor Donna Deegan and City Council President Ron Salem.
  • Monday, Wounded Warrior Project will also be at the Jacksonville National Cemetery for an event with Travis Manion Foundation. Wounded Warrior Project staff and warriors, TMF representatives and volunteers will visit each gravestone to honor individual veterans who are buried at the cemetery in North Jacksonville. Wounded Warrior Project’s chief program officer, Jen Silva, will be speaking at this event.
