Optimal You Brain Centers (OYBC) hosted the opening of an art show on Jan. 31 that featured the work of local artist Marie Lyon Carney. The event allowed attendees to tour the offices of the new Ponte Vedra Beach business, which is located at 151 Sawgrass Corners Drive, Suite 102. A portion of the proceeds from the event benefited the HEAL Foundation. more

The St. Johns Cultural Council will hold the tenth annual Recognizing Outstanding Women in the Arts (ROWITA) Awards Celebration on Sunday, March 31 at 3 p.m. in the Limelight Theatre. The free event will honor the six women chosen to receive the 2019 Dr. Gail Pflaster ROWITA Award for their contributions to the artistic environment in St. Johns County. The 2019 honorees are Dr. Dorothy Barrett, Margaret Jimeson, Linda McAnarney, Regina Gayle Phillips, Dr. Susanne Schuenke and Jo Sinclair. more
It is the start of an ordinary day at Palm Valley Academy in Nocatee. Students unload from school buses, golf carts and bikes, and enter hallways lined with the art of Rembrandt, Picasso, Haring, Warhol and other great artists. There are 160 mat-to-frame, fine art reproductions filling the common areas of the school, plus colorful, student-created murals featuring uplifting “ARTspirational” messages. This cultural experience was made possible thanks to a generous donation from THE PLAYERS and guidance from the Ponte Vedra Public Education Foundation. more
