150-mile garage sale is Saturday

The 150-mile Super Scenic Garage Sale returns for its 13th year this Saturday, Nov. 20. The Friends of A1A Scenic & Historic Coastal Byway, Florida Scenic Highways and National Scenic Byways organize the annual event. The sale will be held from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

From Fernandina Beach to Ponce Inlet, the garage sale passes through several Northeast Florida communities along State Road A1A. It takes shoppers through Nassau, Duval, St. Johns, Flagler and Volusia counties. Participating locations include major community sites, homes and businesses.

Shoppers may want to download the free A1A Scenic Byway Mobi Tour App from TravelStorys to assist in their quest.

A map of the actual sites will be released at 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 19, by the Friends of A1A Scenic & Historic Coastal Byway.

Participating restaurants along A1A will offer special deals and promotions for shoppers throughout the weekend. 

Some of the community sites and places to stop and shop include Heckscher Drive Community Center, Jacksonville; Beaches Museum, Jacksonville Beach; Tides End Subdivision, Ponte Vedra; South Ponte Vedra Civic Association; AirStream Row at the Vilano Beach Pier and Town Center; Vilano Oaks Subdivision, South Ponte Vedra; Vilano Beach Publix on Poplar Road,  Vilano Beach; Pier Park at the bocce courtyard, St. Augustine Beach; Coastal Policy Center, Marineland; First Baptist Church, The Hammock; Veteran's Park, Flagler Beach; St. Vincent De Paul Thrift Store and parking lot, Ormond Beach; Schnebly Recreation Center, Daytona Beach; Lillian Place Heritage Center, Daytona Beach; and Ponce Inlet Community Center.
