Angelwood has been serving children, adults, seniors and families who are living with intellectual and developmental differences since 1993. Angelwood serves the greater Jacksonville area, providing support to hundreds of individuals and their families through services such as residential group homes, behavioral services and summer day camps. Their mission is to enrich the lives of families living with disabilities while serving as a recognized resource in community integration.
On Aug. 16, Angelwood hosted their Soaring Possibilities Celebration at the Sawgrass Marriott in Ponte Vedra. There were more than 350 guests in attendance, and the event raised almost $360,000.
Angelwood’s chief executive officer Diane Tuttle wants to make sure everyone is given an opportunity to achieve great things.
“This event is more than a fundraiser — it’s a celebration of what’s possible,” said Tuttle. “Seeing our guests, sponsors and families all under one roof at the Sawgrass Marriott renewed our commitment to reaching even higher for the individuals we support. Together, we are building a future where every person has the chance to truly soar.”
The celebration included a silent auction with dozens of items that were donated by local businesses and individuals. Auction items included a Bichon Frise puppy, two trips to Washington, D.C., and international travel packages to Iceland, Banff and Costa Rica. The program also included the annual Soaring Possibilities recognition. This is a special recognition of one of Angelwood’s clients, and Michelle Lynn Mollenhour was recognized as this year’s winner.
