Anna Curley Herbert, a long-time resident of Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida, passed away on June 8, 2023, at Starling at Nocatee in the Memory Care Unit. She was 94 years old. Anna was born in Millinocket, Maine, on November 26, 1928, to Camilla T. Curley and John J. Curley. She graduated from Garrett Schenck Jr. High School in East Millinocket, Maine, and Husson College in Bangor, Maine.
Anna was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who loved spending time with her family.
Anna was predeceased by her loving husband of 57 years Cdr. Thomas J. Herbert and her eldest daughter, Patricia Herbert. She is survived by two sons and two daughters: James P. Herbert (Valerie) of Ellsworth, Maine; Peter Herbert (Tracie) of Vernon, Florida; Tracy McKinley (Gary) and Nancy Erickson (Charlie) both of Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida; 10 grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Anna is also survived by one sister, Noreen Smedy of Ellington, Connecticut.
The family would like to thank the staff at Starling at Nocatee for their wonderful care of Anna in her later years as well as Haven Hospice for their support in Anna’s final days. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Haven Hospice.
