Many high schools across the First Coast brought in the month of October with a bye week, but there was still plenty of high school football action to go around.

The Nease Panthers defeated the Riverside Generals 49-14 on Friday, Oct. 2.

Senior running back Enrique Ordonez had a big night for the Panthers rushing for 191 yards and two touchdowns.

Panthers quarterback Aiden Phifer threw for 189 yards and three touchdowns.

The Panthers defense finished the game with 8.5 sacks.

Nease is now 3-3 on the season and will take on the Fletcher Senators on Friday, Oct. 9, at home.

The Mandarin Mustangs defeated the Lake Mary Rams 33-17 on Oct. 2.

The Rams made it on to the scoreboard first, but after that it was all about the Mustangs.

Senior running back Shaunqueze Foster had a big night for the Mustangs rushing for 169 yards and two touchdowns. He also averaged 10.6 yards per carry.

Mustang’s quarterback Knox Annis threw for 267 yards and a season-high three touchdowns.

Will Jones also had a big night for the Mustangs picking up 120 receiving yards and one touchdown.

The Ponte Vedra Sharks enjoyed a week off, which gave them some extra time to prepare to take on the Mustangs on Oct. 9 in the Shark Tank.

The Creekside Knights and the Beachside Barracudas were off this past week; however, both teams will return to action on Oct. 9.

The Barracudas will take on the Bartram Trail Bears at home, and the Knights will take on the Atlantic Coast Stingrays at home.
