The Ponte Vedra Sharks Varsity boys basketball team defeated the Mosley Dolphins 69-45 on Feb. 14. This marks five wins in a row for the Sharks.
Maddox Palmer had a big game for Ponte Vedra going 13-for-21 to rack up 33 points. Palmer also had a big performance against the St. Augustine Yellow Jackets on Feb. 7. In that game, he scored 10 points and picked up six rebounds.
Tyler Kroog had a big night for Ponte Vedra against the Dolphins, shooting 43% from the field and racking up 15 points.
The Sharks played a strong, team game and had a total of 17 assists. Their record is now 20-7 and with this win they will advance to the regional semifinals on Saturday, Feb. 21.
The Nease Panthers Varsity Boys basketball team lost 86-54 to the Lake Howell Silverhawks on Feb. 14. Despite the loss, the Panthers have reasons to be hopeful about the future. Freshman Nate Ohlson went 7-for-16 to rack up 18 points. Chase Phifer also had a good game for the Panthers, posting 11 points.
The Beachside Barracudas Varsity Boys basketball team lost to the Yellow Jackets 67-44 on Feb. 5. Bernardo Bornschein gave a strong performance for the Barracudas, racking up 7 points. He ended the season with 46.1% shooting accuracy. Jeevan Iyengar also had a good night for the Barracudas, earning 11 points. Beachside ended their season with a record of 15-8.
