Apex to present ‘Little Women’ on Friday and Saturday

Apex Theatre Studio will continue its summer season with the musical adaptation of “Little Women” at 8 p.m. Friday, July 9, and Saturday, July 10, at Lewis Auditorium on the campus of Flagler College, 16 Granada St. in St. Augustine.

Based on author Louisa May Alcott's life, “Little Women” follows the adventures of four sisters, Jo, Meg, Beth and Amy March.

Produced nationally and internationally, “Little Women” has been praised by critics for its ambition in adapting such a well-known story for the stage. The story is brought to life in this musical filled with personal discovery, heartache, hope and love. 

The cast features students from Apex Theatre Studio’s advanced musical theater workshop and adult teaching artists. The role of Jo March is played by Mallorie Sievert, a rising sophomore at Elon University’s musical theater program. The role of Professor Bhaer is played by guest artist Matt Morgan, lecturer in vocal performance at the University of Florida.

The production is under the direction of Justin Anderson, associate artistic director at Atlanta’s Aurora Theatre. Tickets are $25.
