“A Day Without Violence” is the focus of a new art exhibit currently on display in the Rotunda Gallery of the St. Johns County Administration Building.
Sponsored by the Betty Griffin Center, the exhibition features artwork submitted to an art and poetry contest which attracted nearly 1,200 art and 65 poetry entries. From those submissions, 13 pieces of art and 12 poems are selected for the annual “A Day Without Violence” calendar distributed to every classroom in the county and sold in Betty Griffin thrift stores to raise funds for the organization.
The Betty Griffin Center is a private nonprofit providing emergency shelter and other support services to abused adults and their minor children. The organization is presenting and sponsoring the art show alongside the St. Johns Cultural Council through Jan. 26.
