Auditions coming up for Jacksonville Symphony's First Coast Nutcracker Ballet

Auditions for "The First Nutcracker" by Jacksonville Symphony will be held Aug. 25 and 26 at the Douglas Anderson School of the Arts.

Registration will be in the lobby of the building, located on 2445 San Diego Rd., 30 minutes prior to the date and time assigned to each age group. Performance dates are Dec. 15, 16, and 17 in addition to school performances on Dec. 14 and 15.

Audition times Aug. 25 will be 4 to 6 p.m. for advanced dancers (male and female ages 15 and older) and 6 to 8 p.m. for intermediate dancers (male and female ages 11 to 14).

Auditions times Aug. 26 will be 10 to 11:15 a.m. for dancers age 11 and older and 11:15 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. for dangers ages 9 to 10.

The Jacksonville Symphony is a nonprofit offering live performances at Jacoby Hall in the Times-Union Center for Performing Arts and other venues. The symphony also provides music instruction for youth. For more information, visit www.jaxsymphony.org.
