Beaches Emergency Assistance Ministry (BEAM) will hold its 23rd annual Back to School with BEAM event Aug. 6, during which they will distribute backpacks, school supplies, clothing and other necessary items for students. The Back to School with BEAM event will take place at Beach Church, located at 325 Seventh Ave. N. in Jacksonville Beach from 8 a.m. to noon. Clients are asked to bring picture ID, proof of residency and social security cards or shot records for each child.
Native Sun will provide snacks to the children attending the event. In addition, Native Sun will donate vitamins, supplements, nutritional shakes, snack bars, and other nutritious options to the drive to help kids get off to a healthy start and to help ensure that kids in need are able to take home nutritious foods as they prepare to begin the new school year.
BEAM is a non-profit organization that provides emergency assistance to low income families and individuals in the Jacksonville Beaches area and helps guide them to self-sufficiency. Due to community support last year, BEAM was able to provide help to 800 local Beaches students at this event. For more information, visit www.jaxbeam.org.
