Jacksonville Children’s Chorus welcomes two

The Jacksonville Children’s Chorus (JCC) has announced two key appointments: Dr. Yukino Miyake as principal accompanist and instructor, and Janette Allen as director of development.

Miyake, an accomplished collaborative pianist and music educator, will enhance music theory instruction for JCC singers and provide additional support to President and Artistic Director Darren Dailey. Her role strengthens the chorus’s musical preparation and expands its capacity for performance and outreach.

A native of Miyazu, Japan, Miyake began piano studies at age 5 and earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Kyoto City University of Arts. She holds a performance certificate from the University of North Florida, a master’s in performance and pedagogy from the University of Houston, and a doctorate in piano performance from the University of Colorado Boulder.

Allen brings more than 30 years of experience in fundraising and arts administration, with previous roles at the University of North Florida, the University of Florida College of Medicine Jacksonville, Cathedral Arts Project and Flagler College. She holds a degree in business administration with a minor in fine art and art history.

With these hires, JCC now has nine full-time staff members.
