The sixth annual BRAVE Summit, a dynamic event focused on breaking the stigma surrounding teen mental health, will take place on Wednesday, March 25, at The St. Augustine Amphitheatre. Organized by UF Health St. Johns, the event is free and open to all high school students across Florida.

Now in its sixth year, the BRAVE Summit continues to expand its reach and impact. With more than 2,000 students in attendance last year, organizers are aiming to make an even greater difference in the lives of young people in 2026. The event creates a safe, welcoming environment where teens can openly discuss mental health, connect with peers and support professionals, and learn practical tools to foster mental wellness.

This year’s event will feature bestselling author and keynote speaker Sam Demma, whose high-energy presentations on resilience, empathy and leadership have inspired students across three continents. A two-time TEDx speaker and author of “Empty Your Backpack” and “Be Someone’s Taco,” Demma’s message encourages teens to prioritize kindness, courage and mental well-being.

Joining the lineup is Grammy Award-winning artist Daya. Known for her double-platinum debut single “Hide Away” and global hit “Don’t Let Me Down,” Daya brings a powerful story of growth and self-discovery. Her journey from teenage breakout star to independent artist highlights themes of creative freedom, resilience and embracing authenticity — messages that resonate deeply with today’s youth.

The BRAVE Summit is a centerpiece event of the BRAVE program. BRAVE, which stands for Be Resilient and Voice Emotions, was founded in 2019 and has already made significant progress in connecting high school teens to mental health resources.

Before BRAVE’s implementation in St. Johns County schools, only 35% of students who were referred to mental health providers were seen by a medical professional. With the BRAVE program, that rate has increased to 90%. Since its founding and despite the pandemic, BRAVE has expanded into 10 school districts across the state, with the ability to assist nearly 300,000 students. Go to bit.ly/BRAVESummit26 to learn more or register for the BRAVE Summit.
