Castillo de San Marcos, Fort Matanzas to hold volunteer ‘job fair’

Posted

The Castillo de San Marcos and Fort Matanzas will hold a volunteer “job fair” from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, June 6 in front of the Castillo.

Attendees will have a chance to meet experienced VIPs – or Volunteers in Parks – from both sites and learn about volunteer duties and activities.

From demonstrating historic weapons and operating a visitor center to cleaning beaches and serving as ferry deckhands, National Park Service VIPs perform a wide variety of tasks. Volunteers also assist with administrative duties, communicate with visitors from around the world and help guests get the most out of their experience. Volunteer hours may also be counted toward school scholarship requirements.
