One year ago this weekend, Cereset, a center for brain health and wellness, opened its doors in the heart of Ponte Vedra Beach. Owner Joni Zwick only dreamed about bringing this level of relaxation and brain wellness to the community, a path she never saw for herself as a former real estate agent, until an unexpected bout of insomnia led Zwick to Cereset’s technology.
“Even I didn’t realize how much Cereset sessions help people,” Zwick said. “People who haven’t slept well for years, people who have anxiety, those people start feeling like themselves again. It has been the most rewarding thing I could have ever imagined.”
Cereset is a technology that helps relax, rebalance and reset the brain with the help of your own brain echoes. Zwick and her husband, who were educated on the technology by Cereset experts before they could begin seeing clients, place non-invasive sensors on different parts of the head that pick up on the electrical signals running through the brain. These electrical signals are echoed back into the brain in a specific manner, balancing the brain’s hemispheres and leaving clients relaxed and reset.
“I would say that 99.5% of people in our community have never heard of Cereset,” Zwick explained. “I didn't think until after I bought the franchise how hard it would be to start a new business on a product or service that no one in the area has heard of, but there are over 20 years of clinical trials and abstract reviews proving things.”
Cereset qualifies in the health and wellness side of personal care and doesn’t cross over into medical diagnosis, but Zwick said that the benefits are immeasurable for any age. Her youngest client was 11 years old, and her oldest has been in their late 80s. She shared a particular story about a client who came in for sleeping issues, someone who admitted they hadn’t slept well in more than seven years, but came to a Cereset session and experienced immediate results, getting a full night’s rest for the first time in years.
Zwick was emotional recounting the story, saying, “It’s like watching a butterfly come out of a chrysalis. I just never imagined how rewarding it would be to be able to do that.”
One of her biggest accomplishments since opening Northeast Florida’s first Cereset franchise has been embracing her education on brain echo technology, a field that she said never stops expanding and leads to constant improvements with Cereset.
“I've always been extremely goal oriented, I’ve always had a business plan, but this business is the first thing I’ve ever done in my life that I didn’t have a personal goal,” Zwick said, looking back on early hopes for the business. “I just wanted to get up and running so that people could get educated.”
In the next year of business, Zwick said she hopes that Cereset continues to help members of the community and that more and more people learn about its services.
“My goal is to keep getting the word out,” she said.
