Cinemark brings the big screen to The Pavilion at Durbin Park

Movie theatre chain Cinemark USA hosted the ribbon-cutting of its new 12-screen theatre, Cinemark Durbin Park and XD, on Feb. 12.

Located at The Pavilion at Durbin Park in St. Johns County, all 12 “ultra-modern” auditoriums feature heated, luxury recliners, immersive sight and sound technology and a Cinemark XD auditorium to enhance the moviegoing experience.

And to enhance the grand-opening experience, the ribbon-cutting featured a “ticket-stub-cutting.” Instead of cutting a red ribbon, the Cinemark staff got creative and cut a giant movie ticket in front of county commissioners and Chamber of Commerce officials.

“Cinemark is thrilled to be a part of the growth and development in Durbin Park,” Cinemark CEO Mark Zoradi said. “Our theatre at The Pavilion will be the premiere entertainment destination, providing premium amenities with enhanced food and beverage offerings for our guests to enjoy.”

Amenities of the new Cinemark include their signature “Luxury Loungers,” with footrests, swivel trays, cup holders and heat-control in all auditoriums; concessions and  traditional movie-going fare; the onsite Studio Eats restaurant offering wraps, chicken sandwiches, beyond burgers; Pizza Hut pizza; Starbucks beverages; selections of beer, wine and frozen cocktails; reserved seating; Monday senior discounts; and a party room for birthdays and celebrations.

Cinemark Durbin Park moviegoers can also sign up for Cinemark Movie Club, a monthly movie membership that offers ticket and concession discounts, along with other exclusive benefits for $9.99 per month. Cinemark Movie Rewards members also get Tuesday weekly discounts.

After the ribbon-cutting and photos, guests were invited for complimentary movies of their choosing, along with popcorn and drinks.
