City Year Jacksonville (CYJ), the local branch of the national nonprofit organization, is moving its office to the Jessie Ball duPont Center, 40 E. Adams St., this spring. To celebrate, they’re inviting the public to a housewarming party, 6 to 8:30 p.m. May 1.
The festivities will include fun and friendly competitions with proceeds benefiting CYJ’s Whole School, Whole Child program. Teams will battle it out in trivia, bingo and other exciting games with an unforgettable grand prize.
In addition, the event will feature a photo booth and a live DJ to keep the crowd moving all night. Guests will enjoy signature cocktails and light hors d’oeuvres. Plus, visitors will get a first look at the new office.
The Jessie, as this new home is locally known, is the ideal place for City Year to call home. It operates as a hub for many nonprofits in the community. Moving there provides CYJ an opportunity to tighten bonds and build opportunities for collaboration.
CYJ has been a presence downtown since 2013. Its previous headquarters were located at 6 E. Bay St. Having just celebrated its 10th year anniversary, the organization’s strategic move to the Jessie Ball duPont Center, which houses 32 nonprofits based in Northeast Florida, will support the expansion of the organization’s presence in the regional nonprofit sector.
Organizations and individuals throughout the community can make a difference by attending the housewarming party. The festivities serve as a dynamic and community-oriented team-building experience.
Registration for sponsorships and team spaces as well as individual tickets are available at support.cityyear.org/event/city-year-jacksonville-housewarming-party/e660592.
