Columnist, author Mark Woods to be keynote speaker for Friends of Ponte Vedra Library annual dinner

Florida Times-Union columnist and author Mark Woods will be the keynote speaker at the Friends of the Ponte Vedra Library’s annual dinner meeting, to be held at 6 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 19 at Marsh Landing Country Club.

The recipient of the Eugene C. Putnam Fellowship, Woods will discuss his new book, “Lassoing the Sun: A Year in America’s National Parks.” According to award-winning documentarian Ken Burns, “In this remarkable journey, Mark Woods captures the essence of our national parks: their serenity and majesty, complexity and vitality-and their power to heal.”

The cost of the dinner is $55 per person. FOL members will receive an invitation and reply card via mail and are encouraged to return them as soon as possible as seating is limited.
