Concerts in the Plaza schedule announced

Concerts in the Plaza, St. Augustine’s free summer-long music series, has returned to the Plaza de la Constitución with many returning favorite bands and several new ones.

The two-hour concerts are held every Thursday through Aug. 29 with two special concerts in September to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month. Concerts begin at 6 p.m. For complete information, go to CityStAug.com/Concerts.

On-street city-managed parking is available near the Plaza and in the downtown parking facility, located at the St. Augustine Visitors Information Center. The cost for parking there is $20 per entry or $3 for St. Johns County residents who have registered their vehicles with the City of St. Augustine program through ParkStAug website.

Free shuttle transportation from the parking garage to Cathedral Place, adjacent to the Plaza, is available on the STAR Downtown Circulator, which operates daily from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Concerts may be cancelled or postponed due to the weather; however, it will likely be a last-minute decision, due to the unpredictability of Florida’s summer rain showers.

If a concert is cancelled, the public will be notified on the city website at citystaug.com and on Facebook at Facebook.com/CityStAug. If no announcement is posted, the concert will continue.

The following schedule is subject to change:

June 13, Paige King Johnson; June 20, Crab Creek Band; June 27, Dewey Via Band; July 4, All Star Orchestra; July 11, Glory; July 18, I-Vibes; July 25, Groove Coalition; Aug 1, Shayla Nelson; Aug 8, Feedback; Aug 15, Str8Up; Aug 22, JC Hatfield Trio; Aug 29, Think & Thin String Band.

Two additional concerts will be held in September: Sept 19, Edwin BarBosa; and Sept 26, ZaZa Flamenca.
