The St. Johns County Council on Aging (COA) has named Judy Ahlquist, R.N., the new manager of the Coastal Home Care department.
Ahlquist succeeds Nancy Urban, who moved out of the area, and took on her new role at the end of June.
“We are excited to have Judy take on this new position,” said Becky Yanni, Council on Aging executive director. “We know that Judy has all the qualifications necessary to succeed in this role, including a compassionate and understanding attitude for those we serve. Nancy Urban has served brilliantly in this role for eight years, and we are fortunate to have Judy step up to form a smooth transition.”
Ahlquist joined COA as a nurse in the Sunshine Adult Day Services Center.
“I am honored to assume this new position,” Ahlquist said. “I look forward to leading our Coastal Home Care team, providing quality in-home services for older adults and those with disabilities in St John’s County.”
Coastal Home Care offers a variety of services to help maintain seniors’ independence in their own homes, in a retirement community or in a care facility. COA operates the Coastal Home Care for St. Johns County, and offers an array of other services, including transportation, Meals on Wheels, five senior centers, an adult day facility and more.
