Dance Alday students JoAnn DesMarais and Lynne Radcliffe both took home awards in The River City Dance Challenge, held Saturday, June 18 at the Atlantic Ballroom in Jacksonville.

DesMarais, who danced with Dance Alday instructor and owner Allan Alday, placed third in the ballroom championships and first in the rhythm championships, for which she earned scholarship money. DesMarais was also voted the Top Overall Student in the entire competition.

Radcliffe, who danced with Dance Alday instructor Adam Horna, placed second in the Rhythm Championships, a ranking that also earned her scholarship money.

Alday said the studio was well represented in the competition, and noted that both students earned high marks and place first in most of their single dances.

Presented by Five Star Dance, the River City Dance Challenge is one of the four Five Star Dance Series dance competitions. Several studios from the Southeast participated, including studios in North Carolina, Georgia and Florida.
