With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father and grandfather, David Grayson McLinden, who left this world on October 2, 2023, at the age of 85. He was born on August 17, 1938, in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Dave was preceded into death by his parents, Fred and Phyllis McLinden, and his brother, Jeff McLinden.
His legacy will forever be cherished by his devoted wife, Suzanne (Rimmel), two children, Michele (Jim) Evanger of Ponte Vedra Beach, FL and Daryl (Kristen) McLinden of Chanhassen, MN, and three adoring grandchildren, Morgan McLinden, Sydney and Carson Evanger.
Dave was a devoted family man. He was a loving and supportive husband, a caring father, and a wonderful grandfather. His presence was a constant source of comfort, and his wisdom was a guiding light in the lives of those he held dear.
Dave was a man of passion and wonder, known for his deep fascination with the world of transportation. His love for cars, trains, and airplanes was a lifelong source of joy. He maintained a constant positive attitude with everything he did and everyone he met.
A memorial service to honor Dave will be held on Saturday, November 4, 2023 at 1 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church of Arlington Heights, Illinois. Please join us in celebrating the remarkable life of a man who touched our hearts and left an indelible mark on our lives. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to be made in Dave's honor to the American Heart Association, or to a cause close to your heart.
Dave, you will be deeply missed but never forgotten. Your spirit will forever soar alongside the airplanes you cherished, ride the rails of the trains you adored. May you find eternal peace on your journey, and may your memory continue to inspire us all.
