Elinor Florence Lowrie Sampson of Ponte Vedra Beach died Jan. 23. Elinor was born in Scranton, Pennsylvania on April 27, 1923. She lived in Pennsylvania until attending Syracuse University, where she graduated with a major in Music and minor in Education. Her love of music and support for the arts was always present. Elinor was a guest pianist for the Jacksonville Symphony, a founder of Players by the Sea and a local piano teacher. Elinor also enjoyed being an active member of Christ Church.

Elinor Sampson is lovingly remembered by her children Charles Sampson and Judy Rowan, grandchildren and other family and friends. She is preceded in death by Wayne Lowrie (brother), James Sampson (husband), Jeff Sampson (son) and James Sampson Jr. (son). Elinor was buried in Waverly, Pennsylvania on Jan. 28.
