Expert’s topic: Find and hook your readers

Posted

Every year, an estimated 3 million to 4 million books are published. Not only is the competition stiff for new writers, but it becomes increasingly difficult to identify potential readers.

At the next Ponte Vedra Writers meeting, book marketing coach Heidi McIntyre will demonstrate how to use AI tools to pinpoint ideal readers. The meeting will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 24, at the Ponte Vedra Beach Branch Library.

In her presentation, McIntyre will dive into strategies for hooking readers through marketing and provide a checklist of tips to writers in attendance.

With a background in marketing consulting, McIntyre specialized in fresh produce, partnering with growers, commodity boards and industry associations to elevate their visibility. Today, she channels that expertise as a book marketing coach, blending strategic insight with the art of storytelling to help authors attract more readers in a crowded marketplace.

As an author, McIntyre published “Sea Magic,” in 2023, the first in a women’s paranormal fiction series. The sequel, “Dark River Magic,” will be released this year. Learn more at https://heidimcintyre.com/coach.

The Ponte Vedra Writers group is part of the Florida Writers Association, a statewide membership organization dedicated to the support of both aspiring and published writers in any genre. The Jan. 24 meeting is free and open to members and nonmembers alike.
