The Big Bad Wolf finally faced justice last week, when First Coast Opera presented an original composition that put the fairy tale villain on trial for his notorious crimes.

“The Trial of B. B. Wolfe” was presented March 16 and 18 at St. Augustine’s Ancient City Baptist Church. Written by First Coast Opera Director Curtis Tucker and collaborator Nelson Sheeley, the family-friendly opera was supported by a $10,000 grant from the National Endowment for the Arts.

In keeping with the courtroom theme, the opera was presented as part of a double bill featuring Gilbert and Sullivan’s comedy, “Trial by Jury.”
