Offering programs to school-aged children throughout Northeast Florida to keep youth active, busy and engaged during out-of-school time, the First Coast YMCA’s Before and Afterschool program was recently ranked No. 1 in the country for impact.
This distinction was based on SEER Analytics surveys from parents at YMCA Before and Afterschool programs nationwide. SEER Analytics is an independent, third-party company that assists YMCAs and other organizations across the United States to set benchmarks, quantify their impact and ultimately improve their programs and services.
“At the Y, we know all kids have potential,” said Eric K. Mann, president and CEO of the First Coast YMCA. “That’s why we support their academic, physical and social-emotional development with programs that don’t just ensure success in school — they help kids realize who they are and all they can achieve. We are honored by the SEER ranking, which showcases the commitment of our Before and Afterschool leaders, as well as the quality of our programming.”
Before and Afterschool child care is available for children ages 5 through 12 at more than 40 sites across the First Coast. Some of these sites also offer Before and Afterschool care for middle school students. Through a well-rounded approach to youth development, the Y offers activities in a caring and safe environment during the critical hours after school. Whether through physical fitness, proper nutrition, academic support or character development, the Y nurtures the potential of youth throughout the school year.
Registration is now open for the First Coast YMCA’s Before and Afterschool program for the 2018-2019 school year. For more information, visit http://firstcoastymca.org/programs/child-care/before-and-afterschool/.
