Flagler Health+, in partnership with St. Johns County and the St. Johns County Cultural Events Division which operates the St. Augustine Amphitheatre, announced that the New Orleans-based Dirty Dozen Brass Band will perform Saturday, Feb. 13 at the Flagler Health+ Village Pavilion at Nocatee.

This outdoor concert event is free and open to the public, with physical distancing and face-mask safety measures in place.

Celebrating over 40 years since their founding in 1977, New Orleans-based Dirty Dozen Brass Band has taken the traditional foundation of brass band music and incorporated it into a blend of genres including bebop jazz, funk and R&B/soul. This unique sound, described by the band as a “musical gumbo” has allowed the Dirty Dozen to tour across five continents and more than 30 countries, record 12 studio albums and collaborate with a range of artists from Modest Mouse to Widespread Panic to Norah Jones. Forty-plus years later, the Dirty Dozen Brass Band is a world-famous music machine whose name is synonymous with genre-bending romps and high-octane performances.

The Dirty Dozen Brass Band members consist of Roger Lewis (baritone sax/vocals) Kevin Harris (tenor sax/vocals) Gregory Davis (trumpet/vocals) Kirk Joseph (sousaphone) TJ Norris (trombone/vocals) Julian Addison (drums) and Takeshi Shimmura (guitar).

The Feb. 13 concert is the inaugural event co-presented by Flagler Health+, St. Johns County and the St. Augustine Amphitheatre as part of the their cultural collaboration, announced in late 2019.

“Building healthier communities takes more than episodic, clinical care. That’s why our new health village at Nocatee was designed to create a sense of connectedness through digital innovation, wellness support and arts programming,” said Flagler Health+ President and CEO Jason Barrett. “We are pleased to partner with the St. Johns County Cultural Division and the team at the St. Augustine Amphitheatre to bring family-friendly, nationally recognized talent to Nocatee.”

The Dirty Dozen Brass Band outdoor concert event will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 13, at the Flagler Health+ Village Pavilion at Nocatee, located at 351 Town Plaza Avenue, Ponte Vedra, Florida. All ages are welcome, and  chairs and blankets will be permitted.
