This National Chicken Wing Day, the community is invited to gather around one of America’s favorite foods for a celebration that gives back.
On Wednesday, July 29, Donovan’s Irish Pub & Restaurant will host “Wings for Warriors,” a daylong community celebration benefiting Women Who Served Alliance. Throughout the day, Donovan’s will donate 25% of all chicken wing sales to the nonprofit organization, turning every order of wings into support for women who have served our country.
From lunchtime through the evening, guests are invited to celebrate National Chicken Wing Day with friends and family while enjoying Donovan’s signature jumbo chicken wings in a variety of flavors, including mild, medium, hot, barbecue, Cajun dry rub, teriyaki, lemon pepper and more.
The celebration continues into the evening with the “Wings for Warriors” Community Party, featuring live music, great food and a welcoming atmosphere for veterans, active-duty military, military families, first responders and the entire community. Whether guests stop by for a quick basket of wings or stay for the evening festivities, every wing purchased helps support programs that empower women veterans.
“Food has a unique way of bringing people together,” said Dr. Diana Jordan Baldwin, co-founder of Women Who Served Alliance. “Wings for Warriors is about celebrating community while honoring service. National Chicken Wing Day gives us the perfect opportunity to enjoy great food, thank those who have served and raise critical funds to support women veterans."
“We’ve always believed Donovan’s should be a gathering place for the community,” said Jareb Dougherty, owner of Donovan's Irish Pub & Restaurant. “National Chicken Wing Day is already a fun occasion, so why not turn it into something even bigger? We invite everyone to come enjoy incredible wings, live music and great company while helping support an organization that’s making a real difference in the lives of women veterans.”
Founded by veterans and community leaders, Women Who Served Alliance is dedicated to recognizing, empowering and supporting women who have served in the United States Armed Forces through advocacy, education, networking and community programs.
