Here Tomorrow, a nonprofit offering accessible suicide prevention, successfully hosted its “A Night of Promise” Gala on Saturday, March 21, at TPC Sawgrass. The event brought together 188 community leaders, advocates and supporters for an inspiring night dedicated to hope, connection and life-saving mental health services.
The elegant event marked five years of Here Tomorrow’s impact in Northeast Florida and beyond, raising more than $420,000 to support the organization’s mission of providing free, immediate suicide prevention support to individuals and families in need.
“This evening was a testament to what’s possible when a community comes together, not just to support our mission, but to support one another,” said Terrie Andrews, president and CEO of Here Tomorrow. “We all know someone who has struggled with mental health. Every dollar raised and every story shared brings us closer to a future where no one has to struggle alone.”
Guests experienced a thoughtfully curated evening that blended storytelling, community impact and meaningful opportunities to give. Throughout the evening, guests enjoyed a premium experience featuring gourmet dining, dancing and both silent and live auctions, all in support of expanding access to no-cost mental health care.
The program began with a warm welcome from Andrews, who highlighted the organization’s mission and emphasized the importance of mental health as a shared community responsibility.
Amanda Frankenfield, director of peer services, followed with a powerful reflection on Here Tomorrow’s evolution and rapid growth. The evening continued with a moving impact video that illustrated the real-life difference Here Tomorrow makes in the lives of those it serves.
Founder Joe Kenney shared his personal story of how the loss of his son Gary to suicide inspired him to innovate solutions for others struggling and reinforced how donor support directly transforms lives.
The evening’s energy then shifted to a high-impact fundraising moment led by the U.S. Rep. Aaron Bean, who guided attendees through a dynamic live auction featuring exclusive, once-in-a-lifetime experiences including playing nine holes of golf with Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence and Parker Washington.
In addition to Bean and Lawrence, other notable attendees included artists Chase and Brooke Lawrence, Mayor of Neptune Beach Cori Byland, Mayor of Atlantic Beach Curtis Ford, Here Tomorrow board member and former Mayor of Neptune Beach Elaine Brown, as well as Dr. Christine Caulfield CEO of Lutheran Health Services and CEO Melanie Patz of United Way of Northeast Florida.
The success of “A Night of Promise” was made possible through the generous support of sponsors, including Benefactor Sponsors Chris and Cynthia Scangas and Pioneer Sponsor Wingard, whose commitment to mental health continues to strengthen families and save lives.
Additional sponsors of the event included Vystar Credit Union, CK Direct, Pinnacle Financial Partners, The Patrick Heinhold Foundation, Mayo Clinic and The Lee Family.
