Ghosts, Goblins and Golf raises money for seniors

Jacksonville Beach Ladies Golf Association held its Ghosts, Goblins and Golf Invitational on Oct. 26. Volunteers provided a raffle of about 20 items and a 50/50 cash drawing. Theresa Shane and Lynn Moody were co-chairs.

There were overall winners, flight winners and special awards given out at the luncheon that followed.

The association raised $1,000, which was donated to the Beaches Council on Aging program, Dial A Ride.

Dial A Ride has been assisting Beaches homebound seniors since 1975. The free service includes door-to-door service to seniors (age 62-plus) who can no longer drive, as well as disabled adults from Mayport to Ponte Vedra Beach.

“I am honored to be surrounded by such community-minded, giving individuals and, along with Bruce (Mohler) and the pro shop staff, we hosted close to 50 golfers who were so excited to play our course and support our charity,” said association president Tracie Parsons.
