Baseball season is well underway for the Ponte Vedra Sharks. The varsity team has won some big matchups this season including a 2-1 victory over the Sandalwood Saints on March 17.
On March 19, the Sharks fell to the Bolles Bulldogs 10-7. Starting pitcher for the Sharks was CJ McKenzie who pitched four innings while giving up one earned and seven unearned runs off six hits. That’s the fewest earned runs he has allowed since February.
Storm Lickliter had a good game for the Sharks with three RBI and one run. Jackson Miller was another standout for Ponte Vedra as he went 2-for-3 with two RBI.
This loss marks two in a row for the Sharks, but they will be looking to get back in the win column this week with matchups against Nease, Flagler Palm Coast and Orange Park.
The Beachside Barracudas varsity baseball team earned a 5-2 win over the Foundation Academy Lions last time they took the field on March 17.
Aidan Kuglar pitched two innings for the Barracudas and gave up no earned runs or hits. He has been a constant for Beachside this season and hasn’t given up more than two hits in seven consecutive appearances.
Gavin Nickel got on base three times for the Barracudas and had one stolen base, one run and one RBI. Derek Ochoa also had a strong game going 3-for-4 with one RBI.
The Barracudas have several key matchups coming up including a game against Tocoi Creek on March 27.
The Nease Panthers varsity baseball team lost 12-4 to the Park Vista Cobras on March 17. This game marked back-to-back losses for the Panthers. Alex Davis had a good game for the Panthers with one double and one RBI. This was his first double of the season.
The Panthers have some big matchups coming up including an away game against the Bartram Trail Bears on March 26.
