Hispanic Chamber announces Excellence in Business Award winners

The First Coast Hispanic Chamber of Commerce held its third Excellence in Business Awards breakfast June 21 to recognize leaders in the Hispanic community and celebrate their accomplishments. The Marriott Sawgrass Golf Resort & Spa was filled with key influencers in the community.

The 2022 Excellence in Business Awards winners are:

  • Rising Star: Adriel Rocha, Jacksonville Jaguars Foundation
  • Up and Coming Business of the Year: MiAddvantage Global Marketing and Communication
  • Woman in Business: Erika Weitz, Unidos en la Musica
  • Business Leader of the Year: Belkis Plata, Plata Schott Law
  • Small Business of the Year: Incer Global Services
  • Corporate Business of the Year: Jacksonville Jaguars Foundation

The speakers panel consisted of: Jonel Hein, SBA deputy district director; Jorge Lopez, vice president of sales at iHeart Media; Dr. Mark C. Dawkins, professor of accounting at Coggin College of Business, University of North Florida; and Vince Caicedo, branch manager at Planet Home Lending.

Betzy Santiago, strategist, volunteer and communicator, emceed the event.

The First Coast Hispanic Chamber of Commerce’s Excellence in Business Awards ceremony is one of the organization’s annual signature events where successful leaders who have exhibited an outstanding job in their industries and in the community are recognized. Previous ceremonies were first held in 2016 and again in 2019 when it was changed to an annual event; however, due to COVID, the event was postponed to 2022.
