Here’s a look and some of the events being held this holiday season. Many events are free to attend; for those that are not, fees for admission or registration are noted.

28th Annual Nights of Lights

When: Nightly through Jan. 30

Where: Throughout downtown St. Augustine

Three million lights illuminate the Nation’s Oldest City.

Deck The Chairs

When: 5 p.m.-1 a.m. Nov. 24 through Jan. 1.

Where: Seawalk Pavilion in Jacksonville Beach

New this year is the SeaSongs Light & Music Spectacle, a one-of-a-kind, motion-activated holiday sound experience. The 140-foot custom-fabricated exhibit is designed to play a variety of musical chords through visitor interaction and is programmed for nightly light shows during the season.

Christmas on the Farm at Sykes Family Farms

When: 6-11 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, Nov. 26-Dec. 18.

Where: 5995 Brough Road, Elkton

Admission: $15

Enjoy a hayride through this ¾ miles drive-through Christmas light display. Bring the family, sip on hot chocolate or apple cider while roasting s'mores over the large fire pit. Mr. and Mrs. Claus are visiting from the North Pole, so be sure to get some great pictures.

Lighthouse Illuminations

When: Various times starting at 6:30 p.m. Nov. 26, 27, 28, 29; Dec. 3, 6, 10, 13, 15, 17, 20, 22, 26, 27, 28, 29, 30; Jan. 3, 5, 7, 10, 12, 14, 19, 21.

Where: St. Augustine Lighthouse & Maritime Museum, 100 Red Cox Road, St. Augustine

Admission: $19.95 for adults, $17.95 for children age 12 and younger.

Discover twenty-one uniquely decorated trees, each with a distinct theme, at this special after-hours event. Explore the Keepers’ house and grounds illuminated by lights and garlands, and enjoy a sensational view of the lighthouse’s night mark.

Dazzling Nights

When: 5:30-9 p.m. through Jan. 9

Where: Jacksonville Arboretum & Botanical Gardens, 1445 Millcoa Road, Jacksonville

Admission: $22 weekdays, $25 weekends. Tickets must be purchased for a specific time and date. Arrive 20-30 minutes before your scheduled entry time.

There will be lite bites, hot chocolate, beer, and wine are available for purchase.

Limited, on-site parking can be reserved in advance for a small fee. Complimentary off-site parking and a shuttle will be provided at The Regency Square Mall, Arlington Expressway, Jacksonville.

Music on Main: Tree Lighting and Danka

When: Nov. 26. Three hours starting with food and drink purchases at 5:30 p.m. Band starts at 6 p.m.

Where: Sesquicentennial Park, Springfield

Danka returns for the public Music on Main series, the Tree Lighting Ceremony and the Holiday Kick-off Celebration for the neighborhood. Bring a blanket or chair and enjoy the offerings of local food vendors.

Christmas Tree Lighting

When: 2-6 p.m. Nov. 27

Where: Marina Parking Lot, downtown Fernandina Beach

The annual Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony will feature food, merchandise, a bounce house and music.

Christmas in the Cathedral District: Let There Be Light

When: Nov. 27-Dec. 31

Where: Visible from I-95 and the Acosta, Main Street, Hart and Mathews Bridges in Jacksonville.

Cathedral District Jacksonville is lighting up the district for Christmas in the Cathedral District: Let There Be Light. The Basilica of the Immaculate Conception, First Presbyterian Church of Jacksonville, First United Methodist Church, Historic Mt. Zion African Methodist Episcopal Church and St. John’s Episcopal Cathedral will shine as part of a self-driving tour that includes more than 150 brightly lit trees. Other significant historic landmark buildings of the Cathedral District will be illuminated as well, including Morocco Temple, Bedell Law Firm and Elena Flats.

Light Up The Beach

When: 5:30-10 p.m. Nov. 27-Jan. 1

Where: 350 A1A Beach Blvd., St. Augustine

Enjoy colorful light displays nightly along A1A Beach Boulevard and St. Johns County Ocean Pier Park. 

Candlelight Tours at the Villa Zorayda

When: 5:30-7 p.m., Nov. 27 and Dec. 4, 10, 18, 20, 27. 28. 30

Where: 83 King St., St. Augustine

Admission: Reservations are required. $19.95 for adults, $8.95 for children 6-12. Not recommended for children ages 5 and under. 

Beautifully decorated for the holidays with a spectacular Christmas Tree located center stage in the Court of Lions. Victorian and traditional decorations are found in every room for visitors to enjoy. Over 100 candles are aglow throughout the museum as visitors take a state-of-the-art audio guided tour of this historic former home. The audio guided tour is available in English, Spanish and French.

Jacksonville Light Boat Parade

When: Nov. 27

Where: Gather along the north and south riverbanks in downtown Jacksonville

The Jacksonville Light Boat Parade has been a holiday tradition for more than 30 years. Vessels of all shapes and sizes adorn their hulls with festive decorations as they float along the north and south banks of the St. Johns River.

This year the Light Boat Parade will feature 904 Pop Up. The 904 Pop Up will be curating Jacksonville's largest Small Business Saturday event featuring over 200 local creatives, makers, artists and more.

Festival of Trees

When: 1-5 p.m. Nov. 29, 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Nov. 30 and Dec. 1, 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Dec. 2

Where: 75 King St., St. Augustine

Help light the way home with the inaugural Festival of Trees presented by St. Francis Shelter at Lightner Museum. Enjoy a display of theme-decorated trees and wreaths for auction, holiday music, photos with Santa and Letters to Santa’s Mailbox. All this while supporting local unhoused families, individuals and youth. Festival of Trees is free and will be open to the public in the foyer of the Lightner Museum. Lightner Museum admission fees will be charged to enter the exhibit areas.

Totally Lit! A Hanukkah Celebration

When: 4:30-7:30 p.m. Nov. 29. Menorah lighting ceremony at approximately 6:30 p.m.

Where: James Weldon Johnson Park

There will be live music, storytelling and crafts, dreidel games and more. Gili’s Kitchen will have food and sufganiot available for purchase. Beer and kosher wine available for purchase as well.

Luminary Night

When: 6-9 p.m. Dec. 1

Where: 100 Red Cox Road, St. Augustine

This annual tradition is hosted by the St. Augustine Lighthouse & Maritime Museum. More than 2,000 luminaries are displayed throughout the grounds and on the streets surrounding this historic landmark, creating a magical holiday experience. Lights and holiday décor also adorn the 1876 Keepers’ House and other historic buildings on the property. For a special treat, guests can climb the tower for sparkling views of Nights of Lights from the top of the St. Augustine Lighthouse.

“A Christmas Story” on stage

When: 7:30 p.m. Thursdays-Saturdays, 2 p.m. Sundays Dec. 3-23

Where: Limelight Theatre, 11 Old Mission Ave., St. Augustine

Admission: $27 for adults, $25 for seniors, $22 for students

Take a trip down memory lane with this Christmas classic … the family’s temperamental exploding furnace; Scut Farkas, the school bully; the boys’ experimentation with a wet tongue on a cold lamppost; and more.

Holiday Soriee

When: 5:30-8:00 p.m. Dec. 3

Where: Lincolnville Museum & Cultural Center, 102 Martin Luther King Jr. Ave., St. Augustine

Jingle Jog 5K and Reindeer Run

When: 6-8:30 p.m. Dec. 3

Where: 205 St. Johns Golf Drive, St. Augustine

Registration: $10-$20

This time chipped race will wind through beautiful St. Johns Golf & Country Club. All participants receive a glow stick, glow necklace and a chocolate finisher’s medal.

15 Annual Holiday Home Tour

When: 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Dec. 3-4

Where: Between 4th and 10th streets, Fernandina Beach

Located in the beautiful Historic Downtown district of Fernandina Beach, the Holiday Home Tour features five Victorian homes not normally open to the public, each tastefully decorated for the holiday season. To minimize touch points and monitor capacity in each of the holiday homes, all visitors must purchase tickets online. Tickets are for sale by entry time for $7 per house. The Amelia Island Museum of History will not be providing shuttle service between houses this year, so be sure to keep travel time between houses in mind when booking multiple houses.

Holiday Wreath Making Workshop

When: 4-6 p.m. Dec. 3-4

Where: The Heirloom Yard, 20 S 10th St., Fernandina Beach

Participants will creating round wreaths with a mix of holiday greens, as well as greenery local to the Northeast Florida market. The final wreath will be perfect for indoor or protected outdoor use.
Wreath form, greenery, wire and a choice of festive decorations will be provided. This workshop is a fundraising partnership with the Amelia Island Museum of History; all proceeds from the workshop (less materials) will be donated by The Heirloom Yard to the museum.

Go Tuk'n Holiday Tours

When: Nightly starting Dec. 3.

Guests of all ages love snuggling up with furry blankets and heated seats to see the gorgeous lights in downtown, Avondale, Riverside and Springfield. Each tour is unique, with the Go Tuk’n drivers selecting the best light displays at the time of your tour. Tours last one hour.

Festival of Lights 5K and Holiday Magic

When: One mile run starts at 5 p.m., 5K at 5:30 p.m. Dec. 4

Where: San Marco. Starts on Atlantic Boulevard in front of the Southside Baptist Church. Ends in front of 1st Place Sports.

Registration: $35-$50

Luminaries will light up the streets of beautiful San Marco as runners, walkers and strollers of all ages and abilities take off during this unique, holiday-themed race. All proceeds from this event benefit Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. Register today to provide UF Health Jacksonville and Wolfson Children’s Hospital with much-needed funding for the purchase of life-saving equipment, telehealth services and resources they need most to care for local kids.

Breakfast with Santa

When: 8:30 -10:30 a.m. Dec. 4

Where: The Ritz-Carlton Ballroom, 4750 Amelia Island Pkwy., Amelia City

Admission: $34 ages 4 to 9, $59 ages 10 and older

Children of all ages will delight in sharing their holiday wishes with Santa Claus. Indulge in a lavish buffet adorned with magical gingerbread houses and holiday decorations. Fun breakfast favorites for the entire family compliment an array of delectable pastries and a holiday cookie-decorating station. Includes a complimentary holiday photo with Santa. 19th Annual Gingerbread House Extravaganza

When: December 4-22. Closed Monday and Dec. 19. 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Tuesdays-Fridays for seniors and those who are health conscious (no children), 1-4 p.m. general admission. 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturdays. Noon-4 p.m. Sundays.

Where: Old St. Andrew’s Church, 317 A. Philip Randolph Blvd., across the street from VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena

Admission: $5-$10, free for children under 4.

The event includes the traditional exhibit at Old St. Andrew’s Church as well as a holiday gift shop, bake shop, silent auction and an online contest to vote for your favorite display. The Dance Company's St. Augustine Winter Spectacular

Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony and Gingerbread Village Reveal

When: 5-8 p.m. Dec. 4

Where: Sawgrass Marriott Golf Resort & Spa, 1000 TPC Blvd., Ponte Vedra Beach

Sawgrass Marriott Golf Resort & Spa kicks off the holiday season with their annual tree lighting ceremony and reveal of this year’s gingerbread village, created by the children of Cabana Beach Club.

Palm Valley Boat Parade

When: 6-8 p.m. Dec. 4

Where: Palm Valley Bridge, South Roscoe Boulevard, Ponte Vedra

Enjoy this annual tradition of lighted boats to celebrate the holiday season in Ponte Vedra Beach. The parade route is seven miles of the Intracoastal and starts one mile south of the Palm Valley Bridge and travels north.

Holiday Tour of Homes

Several local homes, porches, and businesses in the Avondale and Riverside areas will be adorned in holiday décor. The venues will each have their own holiday theme designed by local decorators, and take-away activities will be available at each themed location.

“How The Big Band Stole Christmas!”

Dickens on Centre

Where: Fernandina Beach Main Street, 309½ Centre St., Fernandina Beach

Dickens on Centre is a Victorian holiday festival that transforms downtown Fernandina Beach into the time of Charles Dickens, themed after his popular novel, “A Christmas Carol.” Visit St. Nick in his workshop within Tiny Tim's Kid Zone or shop for unique holiday gifts while wandering through the Artist Alley or strolling Peddlers Village. Enjoy a bite to eat in the Festival Courtyard or a fizzy beverage at Fizziwig's. There will also be a variety of period performances on multiple stages and in the streets throughout the festival.

Santa at Strings

When: 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Dec. 11

Where: Strings Sports Brewery, 1850 N. Main St., Jacksonville

“We Need A Little Christmas” Holiday Concert

When: 7:30 p.m. Dec. 11, 2 p.m. Dec. 12

Where: Cathedral Basilica Of St. Augustine, 38 Cathedral Place, St Augustine

The St Augustine Community Chorus will sing in the season with a program that includes some old standards with new twists, selections from The Messiah, and many other pieces that are sure to get you and your family in the holiday spirit.

Santa Suits on the Loose 5K

Polar Express Holiday Event

When: 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Dec. 11

Where: World Golf Imax Theater, One World Golf Place, St. Augustine

Admission: $10

Meet Santa, shop for the holidays, enjoy kids’ activities and the well-loved “Polar Express” movie at the Polar Express Holiday Event in partnership with the IMAX World Golf Theater. Pre-order tickets to the “Polar Express” movie for the 9 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. showings. These two movies will sell out before the day of the event.

Holiday Night Market at the Pier

When: 3-8 p.m. Dec. 11

Where: St. Johns County Ocean Pier Park, 350 A1A Beach Blvd., St. Augustine

Stroll through the market, where you will find local vendors with offerings for everyone on your holiday gift list. The market will offer gift wrapping for your one-of-a-kind purchases. Capture the family fun in the Grinchy-themed photo booth, discover delicious treats to take home, all while enjoying the vibrant light displays at St. Johns Ocean Pier Park.

Regatta of Lights

When: 6-8 p.m. Dec. 11

Where: St. Augustine Bayfront, Avenida Menendez, St. Augustine

Gather on the bayfront north of the Bridge of Lions for the annual Regatta of Lights boat parade. Watch the brilliant displays of brightly lit boats pass by, decorated in everything from whimsical to patriotic themes. 

Riverside Avondale Luminaria

When: Dec. 12 at dusk.

Where: The Riverside Avondale historic district

To participate, purchase a luminaria kit or starter pack from Riverside Avondale Preservation.  Luminaria kits are $7 and include six white bags, six 10-hour votive candles and a quart of sand for weight and support. Each kit is built by a volunteer. A starter pack includes four kits and a firestick for $35. For $50, volunteers will deliver the starter pack to a home or porch in a custom 2021 luminaria tote bag.

The Hip Hop Nutcracker

When: 7 p.m. Dec. 12

Where: The Florida Theatre, 128 E. Forsyth St., Ste. 300, Jacksonville

A holiday mash-up for the whole family, The Hip Hop Nutcracker is back and better than ever. It’s a contemporary dance spectacle set to Tchaikovsky’s timeless music. A unique and joyful event, this evening-length production is performed by a supercharged cast of a dozen all-star dancers, a DJ, a violinist, and MC Kurtis Blow, one of hip hop’s founding fathers.

Holiday Pops Concert

Cirque Musica Holiday Spectacular

Christmas at the Cabin

When: 5-8 p.m. Dec. 16

Where: The Beaches Museum’s 1873 Oesterreicher-McCormick Cabin, 503 Beach Blvd. Jacksonville Beach

Enjoy a festive evening under the twinkling lights as the sound of Christmas carols fills the courtyard. Live entertainment begins at 5:30pm and will include dancers from First Coast Dance, St. Paul’s Contemporary Choir, Rhythm Theory Dance Ensemble and Community Presbyterian Bell Choir. To further the fun, guests can roast marshmallows amid the period decor that will adorn the Cabin.

Saint Augustine Ballet Presents The Nutcracker

The block party takes place all day at businesses along A1A Beach Boulevard. There will be discounts, live music and other specials. Fireworks start at 8:30 p.m. Parking is limited, so participants are encouraged to carpool. Limited parking is available at St. Johns Ocean Pier Park or any of the designated parking areas along 16th Street.

New Year’s Eve Celebration

Where: The waterfront of the St. Johns River

Say goodbye to 2021 and welcome in the new year at the annual New Year's Eve Fireworks. The waterfront and skyline will serve as a backdrop for this amazing display over the St. Johns River.  Fireworks will be launched from a barge on the St. Johns River between the Hyatt and DoubleTree hotels and high above the St. Johns River from the Acosta Bridge. The show will begin at exactly midnight.
