Holiday Landscape Decor

Posted

“May your walls know joy, may every room hold laughter, and every window open to great possibility.” – Mary Anne Radmacher

Have you dressed up your home for the holidays?

Many of us have decorated even earlier than normal given the world’s circumstances!

Of course houses can be adorned with lighted, inflatable decor, and bows galore, but what about landscaping additions for the festive season?

As most of you probably know, poinsettias are the number one decorative flower for the holiday season. They work well in Florida as we are typically not affected by too cold of weather.

If we are going to expect freezing weather, wrap them or bring them inside until the weather warms up. Petunias, pansies, violas and dusty miller are all flowers that come in a multitude of colors that will dress up your yard in December and won’t mind the “chillier” weather.

If you have an herb garden, this month is the time to plant parsley, fennel, sage, garlic, cilantro, dill and thyme for the upcoming season.

Get creative and happy planting!
