Horschel’s birdies, eagles at PLAYERS to benefit Feeding Northeast Florida

Pro golfer Billy Horschel will donate $1,000 for every birdie and $5,000 for every eagle he makes at THE PLAYERS Championship 2016 to Feeding Northeast Florida, the three-time PGA Tour winner announced.

Nearly 174,000 spectators attended THE PLAYERS Championship in 2015. Knowing that nearly twice that many people in our area struggle with hunger, Horschel said, he decided to use this year’s tournament to help “Drive Out Hunger” in Northeast Florida. In addition to Horschel’s donations, fans can make donations at https://feedingnefl.givecorps.com/projects/13210-billy-horschel-tpc-challenge.

As the community food bank for 17 counties in Florida, Feeding Northeast Florida sends out trucks each day to local grocery stores, manufacturers, and farms to rescue food that normally would be thrown out. The food is inspected and sorted by volunteers, and then sent out to be distributed to those in need.
