Hugs Across the County organizes summer book drive

Local nonprofit organization Hugs Across the County has started a book giveaway and reading buddy program at locations in St. Johns County that serve underrepresented kids. Every week, adult and Ponte Vedra High School student volunteers bring new and nearly new books for kids to keep, and also read with them. The organization has reached kids at Crookshank Elementary School, Webster Elementary School, the Homeless Coalition and the American Legion Kids Safe Zone. Hugs will return each week through July with more books and reading buddies.
