Irene Pearson 1940 – 2024

With heavy hearts, we bid farewell to Irene Pearson, a compassionate soul and dedicated registered nurse who touched countless lives with her kindness and expertise.

Born in Toronto on January 22, 1940, to Margaret and Rudy Fritz, Irene obtained her education and her RN there and rose to become the head nurse of the recovery room in the East General Hospital in Toronto.

In 1966, she married Dr. Bruce Pearson of Toronto and they were soon blessed with two loving children, David and Susan.

Following a study year in London, England, Irene and Bruce accepted a cherished invitation to come and live in Rochester, Minnesota, to work at the Mayo Clinic, and to become naturalized American citizens.

The family moved to Ponte Vedra Beach in 1986, again with Mayo, and have lived here since, to see David become a busy Facial plastic surgeon in Fleming Island and Susan become a wonderful mother and homemaker in Nashville, Tennessee.

Irene’s adventurous spirit led her to explore the world, enriching her life and the lives of many other individuals. She enjoyed numerous diverse experiences in her lifetime and maintained meaningful friendships in over forty countries and five continents.

At 84, Irene peacefully departed due to complications of valvular heart disease. She is leaving behind cherished memories and a legacy of love.

She is survived by her devoted husband Bruce, loving son David, caring daughter Susan and three adoring grandchildren, Emma, William, and Molly.

Irene will be deeply missed, but her spirit will forever live on in the hearts of those she loved and touched.
