Joan Lee Roberts Brock, 78, and a long time resident of Ponte Vedra Beach, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 3rd surrounded by family, friends and loved ones. Joan was a beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. Her love of life and desire for fun was contagious and she brightened the lives of those around her with her warm spirit and often-times her song. Joan was born in Dearborn, Michigan on December 20, 1936 to Florie and Leroy Wilcoxon and was the older sister to Patty Wilcoxon Dillane and Carol Wilcoxon Ritea. She attended Southfield High School and Wayne State University, where she met the love of her life, Norman A. Roberts. Norm and Joan wed in Dearborn in 1956 and subsequently had four children, Mark Roberts, Laura Roberts Goodijohn, Kathy Roberts Van Buskirk, and Matthew Roberts. Joan, along with her husband and kids, loved to travel, to read, to cook and entertain, to visit the beach, play tennis and golf and enjoy time with family and friends. Due to Norm’s busy career Joan became an expert at moving homes and settling her whole family comfortably in Michigan, Ohio, Texas, New Jersey, Florida, New York, and ultimately back to Florida again for retirement. Her humor and warm personality brought new friends in to her growing circle in each town she lived in.

After Norman passed in 1987, Joan was lucky enough to find another incredible love with Robert (Bob) Brock. Joan and Bob traveled the globe, shared a love of music and golf, and spent many wonderful years getting to enjoy time with their kids, grandkids, and friends before Bob passed on in 2014.

Whether getting a chance to hold one of her young grandbabies, laughing at a funny movie with her kids, joining in song with friends, or beating her family with her mad scrabble skills, Joan truly lived life to the fullest. Her joy and spirit will be dearly missed by everyone.
