Coach Andrew Benton, assisted by Coach Aviv Blasbalg, led the Landrum Middle School baseball team to a win in the 2024 SJMSAA title this year 6-2. Despite having an 8-4 record throughout the season, they transformed their fate in the final two games.
In the championship game Jackson Miller and Michael Stehl each hit doubles, while Max Howard, Cooper Mayer and Nate Mohan contributed with one hit apiece for the Lions. Max Hydell started on the mound, striking out seven and allowing only two runs. Jackson Miller and Charlie Westrip each pitched shutout innings in relief, while Cooper Mayer remained the catcher throughout the game. Max Hydell was awarded MVP.
Max Hydell, Cooper Mayer, Jackson Miller and Michael Stehl were selected to play on the all-star team.
