On April 4 and 5 community members gathered at Underwood Jewelers in Ponte Vedra to meet renowned designer Lika Behar.
Behar is currently on tour at jewelry stores around the country greeting customers and displaying her dazzling new collection. The collection, she says, is inspired by nature and the natural world, crafted with natural gemstones and diamonds.
“I love what I do,” Behar said. “Most of my work is completely hand done in my own studio in Istanbul, Turkey.”
Her favorite pieces from the collection are those crafted in 22K and 18K gold, prized for their beauty and especially sought-after in today’s market. She’s also partial to any of her pieces made with turquoise.
One of her favorite pieces is the “Darkness and Light Rotating Pendant,” crafted with cabochon
onyx, crystal quartz, and diamonds. She also loves the “Earth & Sky Rotating Pendant,” which features a rotating design with cabochon crystal quartz and malachite on one side, and a turquoise and crystal quartz triplet on the other, accented with a carré diamond drop and additional diamonds.
“I try to be as unique and different as possible,” Behar said. “What I love about them is that it turns, depending on your mood or how you let it do whatever it wants.”
While she was only at the store for a short time, several standout pieces from her collection remain available for those who didn’t get the chance to meet her in person. Shoppers can still explore and purchase her distinctive designs at Underwood Jewelers, which reflect the craftsmanship and style that have made her a standout in the world of fine jewelry.
