The Cultural Center at Ponte Vedra Beach (CCPVB) and Love Your Mother will bring the Love Your Mother Eco Fashion Show to the Marsh Landing County Club in Ponte Vedra Beach March 31. Proceeds will support CCPVB and its programs, including Sound Connections, which provides music therapy for children with special needs in local schools.
Twelve designers and design groups, as well as more than 50 models will participate in this year's event, which will feature fantastical fashion handcrafted from reused materials, including aluminum cans, dryer lint, bicycle tubes, plastic bags, magazines and used canvases. Designers include opening show designer Lucero Gleaton, 9-year-old Ayla Gray of Ayla's Industrials, the Douglas Anderson School of the Arts, Jennifer Mcmanaway, Donna McCarthy, Halle Elizabeth, Laura O'Neal, Robin Hottinger, Erin Healy Designs, the founder of St. Augustine Fashion Week Brittany Alphonso, Ejo Fox, Colleen Loughlin, Susan Cafiso and Juliana Koutouzakis. The fashion lines will cover themes such as the Industrial Revolution, Coming to America, the Mad Hatter's Tea Party and The Painter.
“This Fashion Show is like no other in this area — think Paris, Milan, NYC, LA and add theatrics to it,” said CCPVB Executive Director and Love Your Mother Eco Fashion Show Chair Donna Guzzo. “This event is a sell-out. Hurry to get your tickets.
“We are grateful for Kristy Weeks and Julianna Koutouzakis for allowing us to borrow the concept to benefit the Cultural Center,” Guzzo continued. “A shout out to Julio Gomez who has been my right hand with production.”
The evening’s events will also include dance performances from the Ignite Artist Collaborative. Honoring the beauty and wonder of nature, Ignite Artist Collaborative brings together dancers from Ponte Vedra Ballet and local professional dancers to premiere “Mother Earth/Heart Beats,” a dynamic contemporary dance piece choreographed by the Ignite Artist-in-Resident at the Ponte Vedra Ballet & Dance Company, JoAnna Ursal.
Tickets, VIP passes and additional information about the Love Your Mother Eco Fashion Show are available online at www.ccpvb.org. CCPVB visitors can also view an exhibition of photographs displaying the artistry of the show’s 2017 designers now through April 21.
