Marjorie Miller Luke, 99, of Ponte Vedra Beach, died peacefully on Sunday, Nov. 19, 2017, at McGraw Community Hospice. She was born on May 3, 1918, in Philadelphia. Mrs. Luke graduated from the University of Pennsylvania, served as a lieutenant junior grade in the United States Navy from 1944 to 1946 and was married to William Guthrie Luke Jr., who died June 9, 1997.
She is survived by her stepdaughters, Bobbie Luke Bareham and Sandra Luke Stephenson; the widow of her stepson William G. Luke III, Barbara Luke; her godchildren, Willa Luke Schweitzer and Heather McLeod Graecen; and by seven step-grandchildren as well as two cousins, Carol Diane Terry Brownlee and Nancy J. Terry.
A funeral service will be held in the Chapel of Christ Episcopal Church at 400 San Juan Drive in Ponte Vedra Beach on Dec. 4, 2017, at 11 a.m., followed by a reception at the Seahorse Room at Ponte Vedra Inn & Club.
