“Meet me in Havana” a hit for River Garden Gala

With authentic Cuban flare and a good cause at its heart, the 23rd annual River Garden Gala was a spectacular success for the non-profit arm of the River Garden system of senior services.

Former Jacksonville Mayor John Delaney and his wife Gena were honorary Chairs at the event, hosted at the Marriott Sawgrass. Six hundred patrons danced the night away and enjoyed festive entertainment provided by Chez-zam.

Picture Old Havana in 1959, right before the revolution. No matter what is happening elsewhere in Cuba, the living in Havana is easy and wild. And Chez-zam brought the evening to life through vitality and versatility of their renowned theatrical dance troupe as everyone enjoyed vintage Havana.

The black tie event of dinner, dancing, show time, and silent auctions was a night to remember by all The Gala supports programs and financial assistance through the non-profit arm of the River Garden system of senior services to include the River Garden Hebrew Home/Wolfson Health and Aging Center. SunTrust Bank was the Premier sponsor this year.
