National physical therapy clinic opens in Nocatee

National physical therapy clinic CORA Physical Therapy hosted a ribbon-cutting Feb. 13 to celebrate the opening of its new Nocatee location off Town Plaza Avenue.

Jammas Jax and The Icee Spot food trucks parked in front of the new location, greeting guests to Cora’s entrance.

Inside, guests were welcomed by the Cora staff, where they gave a tour of the clinic and explained its services to the Nocatee community.

“We have 14 locations across Jacksonville, and this is our third in St. Johns County,” said Susie Parker, CORA’s physician marketer. “We can treat ‘toes to nose.’ Anything from concussions, joints, vestibular, anything orthopedically along the spine, hips, knees, post-op, anything.”

Neighboring vendor Aesthetix Plus stopped by to support the new business, along with

future Nocatee juice bar and local business Clean Juice, which offered samples of different juices and information about their opening in summer 2020.

“I was a client at CORA and got to know the staff,” said Clean Juice co-owner Sam Lacey, who owns the franchise alongside his wife, Angie. “They knew we were opening the juice bar and invited us to come and market with them, so here we are.”

Another CORA patient, Nocatee resident Jennifer Borgio, runs with PRS Running Club. The club has a partnership with CORA. Members run from CORA locations and in exchange, CORA supports them during races, according to Borgio, especially the Gate River Run.

“They'll come out and give us free screenings, assessments and ASTEM” Borgio said. “ASTEM is a plastic tool that goes on the skin and helps break up adhesions in the body. It helps keep us healthy. We love CORA, so we had to come out and say hello.”

CORA’s Sports Medicine Coordinator Courtnie Breland said the clinic prides itself in “serving the community and serving everyone. We take all insurances. We’re can do cash pay. We work with high deductibles and make payment plans. We won’t turn anybody away.”

Parker said she takes pride in representing CORA.

“We have the best staff,” Parker said. “We treat head to toe, we take over 4,000 insurances and our motto is to treat everyone - the whole community,” she said. “I work for CORA because I believe in CORA.”
