Navy to Navy Homes donates more than $1 million to Jacksonville heroes

For nearly seven years, Mario Gonzalez, the founder and broker of Navy to Navy Homes, has dedicated his company to supporting local Jacksonville heroes through his affiliation with the Homes for Heroes program. The purpose of Homes for Heroes is to help make homeownership affordable to all local heroes. To date, Gonzalez and his associates have achieved the goal as top performers in the program nationwide.

The Navy to Navy team has donated more than $1 million in total directly to local heroes including veterans, military families, first responders, teachers, frontline health care workers and any essential workers who have served during the COVID-19 pandemic.

During Navy to Navy Homes’ history with Homes for Heroes, the real estate firm has given back to more than 900 recipients. Gonzalez and his team continue to fulfill their milestone mission to get local heroes affordable housing, while providing support through the real estate process with beneficial transactions for buyers and sellers.

“We want to assist those who have served our country and local communities with a place they can call home,” Gonzalez said. “Often, with family separations in these helping professions, there is distance, time, logistics, and budget challenges involved when facilitating the housing process, plus a myriad of additional circumstances that most people don't have to experience.”

For example, by connecting with heroes, local real estate specialists such as Gonzalez, who buy, sell or refinance a home for specific customer groups can provide more savings through the Homes for Heroes Circle of Giving program. With a donation of earnings and commissions to the Homes for Heroes Foundation, Circle of Giving affiliates can strengthen American communities by putting more money into the hands of customers which benefits their lives and businesses.

According to Abby Waltz, national director of Homes for Heroes, on average, heroes can save thousands of dollars when they buy or sell a home with a Homes for Heroes affiliate including Navy to Navy Homes. There are also benefits with mortgages, titles, inspections and lenders affiliated with the service.

“When you work with our real estate specialists to buy a home, you can save a percentage of the home purchase price. Then, we send the homeowner a check to use for the new home,” Waltz said. “There are many benefits to buyers and sellers. Mario and his professional staff have worked with us quite successfully in this manner. Plus, they uphold our key values with caring, positivity, driven by the cause, doing the right thing and working together as a team.”

Waltz added that Gonzalez has gone above and beyond the affiliation with helping those in need through improvements to homes owned by local heroes who are in physical and financial need.

Navy to Navy Homes and Homes for Heroes donates approximately 25% of the home sale as a thank you for the hero’s service to the community.
