Neighborly launches home improvement initiative benefiting Jacksonville veterans

Neighborly, a community platform of specialty home services franchises founded by the Dwyer Group, recently announced the launch of an initiative to honor a veteran with complimentary home repair services. Nominations in Jacksonville will be accepted through March 31 at www.getneighborly.com/nominate.

"Neighborly is dedicated to serving our community and connecting homeowners with trusted home service providers in virtually every category,” said Lisa Zoellner, a chief strategy and marketing officer at the Dwyer Group. "With the launch of The Neighborly Project, we’re able to utilize our vast community of experienced service professionals to honor veterans who have put their lives on the line to protect and serve our nation. Several members of our leadership team and franchise owners are proud veterans, so kicking off this initiative in Jacksonville by recognizing these American heroes was a natural fit, and we look forward to expanding this project nationwide.”

The initiative – called The Neighborly Project – is open to the public, but nominees must fit the following criteria: a former enlisted serviceman or woman who was honorably discharged from service (preferably served in a deployed location); a homeowner living in an older home that could benefit from Neighborly’s services; and a homeowner who plans to live in the Jacksonville area for the foreseeable future and is willing to participate in interviews and share his or her story with the community. The recipient will be selected in April with home repairs beginning afterwards.

“Being a part of The Neighborly Project allows businesses like mine to make a huge impact in the neighborhoods where we live and serve," said Michael McCalley, the owner of Mr. Handyman serving the Greater Jacksonville area. “Neighborly is dedicated to serving the community with our time and our talents, and we look forward to working together with the deserving veteran.”
