North Florida School of Special Education hosts Red, White & Blues

The North Florida School of Special Education (NFSSE) held its 7th annual Red, White & Blues fundraising event Nov. 18, raising more than $32,000 to date.

Hosted by philanthropist Gary McCalla at his riverfront home in Jacksonville, the event featured food, wine and spirits from local favorites The Bearded Pig, Trinchero Family Estates, Republic National Distributing and more, as well as live music and a chance drawing of student artwork.

NFSSE’s mission is to improve the lives of students with mild to moderate intellectual disabilities. Founded in 1992, the school has an enrollment of 160 children and young adults with disabilities that include Down syndrome, autism spectrum disorder, fetal alcohol syndrome and traumatic brain injury.
