The Intracoastal Waterway will be aglow with the holiday spirit next month, when the popular annual Palm Valley Boat Parade sets sail through Ponte Vedra.
To be held Saturday, Dec. 10 at 7 p.m., the parade of boats bedecked with Christmas lights will begin just south of the Palm Valley Bridge and travel north to the end of Marsh Landing. Spectators may view the floating spectacle from underneath the bridge, where food and drinks will be available for purchase. The parade may also be viewed from several restaurants located along the parade route (reservations are recommended).Prizes will be awarded for best decorated boat, with the grand prize winner receiving $1,500. All participating captains must attend the mandatory Captain’s Safety meeting to be held Tuesday, Dec. 6 at 6:30 p.m. at the American Legion Post 233, 560 N. Wilderness Trail in Ponte Vedra Beach.
