An event begun in 2020 to feature local poets, artists and musicians (PAM) is expanding this year.

The inaugural PAM Jam STA (St. Augustine) worked with Ancient City Poets, Butterfield Garage Art Gallery and local musicians, and the event was a success.

This year, the Fall Arts event will expand into Ponte Vedra and Jacksonville.

PAM Jam PVB will feature poets from A Gathering of Poets, paired with artists from the Cultural Center of Ponte Vedra Beach. The showcase will be held Nov. 1-30 at the Ponte Vedra Branch of the St. Johns County Library. Poetry previews are scheduled for 3-5 p.m. Oct. 17 via Facebook Live.

Participants will provide a “sneak preview” from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. July 15 at the grand opening of the new Cultural Center at Ponte Vedra Beach location at the link in Nocatee. It will feature works by noted local artist and instructor Ellen Diamond and several of her students, along with their poet and musician pairs.

PAM Jam JAX will feature poets from North Florida Poetry Hub, sponsored by Hope at Hand and paired with artists from The Art Center Cooperative. The showcase will be held Oct. 3-29 at the cooperative in San Marco. Poetry previews are scheduled for 3-5 p.m. Sept. 19 via Facebook Live.

Both groups include participants from Women Writing for (a) Change and local musicians.

PAM Jam is a platform where poets, artists and musicians come together to inspire, collaborate and create a video that showcases their talents. PAM Jam St. Augustine resulted in 18 videos.

PAM Jam participants have opportunities to give back to their communities and raise funds for scholarships.

Donations and funds raised in 2021 will go to participants and scholarships for partner organizations.
